The Little CPA

Welcome - we're grateful you're here.

The Heart Behind The Little CPA®

Mastering money isn’t just for accountants — we all need a Little CPA.

We believe everyone can benefit from thinking like a CPA.

CPAs are trained to see the big picture: blending accounting, finance, business strategy, tax law, technology, and ethics. That same well-rounded approach is exactly what’s needed to steward our financial resources wisely, aligning every dollar with purpose and care.

Having said that, we know that thinking like a CPA can feel overwhelming—no one is expected to know it all. That’s why our blogs and resources are created with guidance from qualified professionals, helping to fill knowledge gaps and support you on your financial journey.

The Little CPA is a personal finance community for changemakers.

Get to know The Little CPA.

We are a collective that believes creating wealth and giving radically are not mutually exclusive. While we travel, invest, and enjoy the life God has provided, we also prioritize helping the oppressed (Proverbs 31:8-9), uplifting communities, and creating lasting change that glorifies God (Matthew 5:16).

Although our content is designed for early and mid-career professionals from historically marginalized or underserved communities, the principles we share empower all who desire to build wealth that honors God.

Above all, our giving is a response to the greatest gift ever given, and when the Gospel is our motivation, generosity becomes an act of worship rather than a transaction (1 John 4:19).

We believe our bank accounts and beliefs should tell the same story.

Here are our fundamentals

Money isn’t our master — it’s a resource for loving like Jesus, serving others, stewarding well, and enjoying the life God designed for us

Through wise Financial Management, purposeful Financial Growth, intentional Financial Impact, and God-honoring Financial Freedom, we craft this tool into a powerful instrument for lasting impact.

— 01

Financial Management

We believe in practicing wise stewardship through budgeting, saving, managing credit and debt, diversifying our assets and applying Biblical financial principles.

(Proverbs 27:23-27)

— 02

Financial Growth

Good stewardship includes growth. And while that looks different depending on your season and resources, the goal is the same: building a financial foundation that supports the life God has given you.

(Matthew 25:14-30)

— 03

Financial Impact

Whether it’s charitable giving, impact investing, volunteering your time or creating generational wealth, we believe God calls us to be rich in good works and generous toward others.

(1 Timothy 6:17-18)

Financial Freedom

Because Christ has freed us from the love of money, we can actually enjoy it. That means guilt-free rest, travel, and fellowship — alongside wise planning and open-handed generosity.

(Ecclesiastes 8:15)

The Little CPA started with one question from a friend.

It hasn't stopped since.

The Little CPA was founded by Chérie, a California-raised Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Personal Financial Specialist ( PFS™) with more than 15-years of experience as a tax and financial professional. Chérie’s passion for financial education started early in her career when her film-student roommate asked about LLC tax deductions. New to the accounting profession, Chérie researched and shared the info in written form – kind of like a blog.

As more friends and family sought her advice on topics like equity compensation and nonprofit compliance, she saw a clear need for trusted financial guidance for her peers who were building wealth, giving back and planning for the future.

Alongside her career growth, God used Sunday School lessons, Christian finance books, and personal time in Scripture to deepen her understanding of what He says about money, generosity, and faithfulness. Even while wrestling with financial trauma from childhood and a lingering fear of financial insecurity, one conviction became clear: honoring God with our finances is not optional, but a form of worship woven throughout His Word.

In 2017, she published her blogs and launched The Little CPA® as a hobby, which quickly grew to over 10,000 followers. After much prayer and guidance during a small hiatus during 2024-2026, she expanded The Little CPA® to what you know it as today – a personal finance education community rooted in faith, focused on stewardship, impact, and intentional wealth building.
